IMG_5428[1] - CopyThe Records Section is responsible for compiling, storing, data input, and maintaining all official records of the department necessary to facilitate the law enforcement process. The Records Section also provides the development and implementation of effective programs to combat crime and to positively impact the total quality of life for the citizens of McMinnville.
The Records Section consists of one (1) civilian employee and a commanding Deputy Chief, who is a certified police officer. The daily duties for Records personnel include computer data entry using records management software, receipt of telephone inquiries regarding reports and property, mailing of requested reports, and providing data as needed by others. Each month, Records personnel submit and correct local statistical data of incidents to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). The Records Section processes arrest reports, offense reports and accident reports. Offense reports and accident reports can be purchased for 15 cents per page at the Police Department, cash or check, payable to City of McMinnville. Mail in request should be mailed to McMinnville Police Department, P.O. Box 7088, McMinnville, TN 37111. Your request must include name and date of accident or incident and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Faxed reports must be paid in advance.
