MFD Citizens Fire Academy

The dates for the academy are June 9, 2016 through August 4, 2016. Classes will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. each Thursday, skipping July 7, 2016 due to 4^th of July holiday week.

There is no cost to attend the academy, candidates must be at least 18, sign a hold-harmless agreement, and will be required to pass a background check, and must commit to missing no more than one class.

Subjects scheduled for discussion or hands-on experience will include a fire engine ride, cpr training, fire prevention techniques, fire codes and use of departmental turnout firefighting clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus and fire hose training.
