Storm Drain Art Contest 2022

The City of McMinnville Stormwater Department is seeking artists to paint (8) storm drains. The goal of this project is to educate and communicate with the public about storm drains leading directly to our creeks, rivers or streams and discourage anything except rainwater from going down the storm drains. Through this art project, attention to storm drains in McMinnville will increase. To Enter:
● Please send a color sketch of your proposed design around the storm drain either through email or mail.
● You may plan for your artwork to include the street, the sidewalk, or both but not any brick
● Text is encouraged as part of the design to help convey the educational message.
● Include your name, email, and phone number.
● Artists must be at least 12 years of age.
● Artists will be selected on a first come first serve basis until 8 Entries have been received

The first 8 people to submit their proposed artwork will be the contestants. Artists will have from July 7th to July 15th to paint their storm drain. Artwork will be judged on July 16th and the top 3 will receive prizes! Paint will be provided - each artist will receive 1 quart of red, yellow, blue, white and black that may be mixed to
create an individual palette. Each artist and their storm drain art will be photographed and used for publicity by the City of McMinnville. The expected life span of the art is 3-5 years. Late entries will not be accepted. All submitted materials will become property of the City of McMinnville and will not be returned.
