- This Week
- I (Nolan Ming) worked on the upcoming budget.
- I attended the Tennessee City Managers Association Spring Conference.
- A planning session was held to discuss the future of The Lot. Attendees included members of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, representatives from the Tourism Development Board, and the McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce.
- Safety, Building & Grounds, and Parks & Recreation committees met to review budget proposals.
- The annual CASA fundraising gala will be held on Saturday, 4/20.
- I reviewed departmental budget proposals.
- Next Week
- Committee and Board of Mayor & Aldermen meetings will be held on Tuesday, 4/9.
- The Water & Wastewater and Streets & Sanitation committees will meet to review budget proposals for the upcoming fiscal year.
- I will attend a status update meeting on bypass signalization upgrades on Monday at 2:00 pm.
- I will attend the Warren County Middle School Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Monday at 4:00 pm.
- I will attend a sneak peek tour of the new state archeological park at Cardwell Mountain on Friday at 1:00.
- I will meet with consultants and engineers on potential projects.
- I will continue collaborating with several departments, organizations, and representatives as we work on our upcoming budget.

Police
- This Week
- April is observed as National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Distracted driving has been linked to thousands of deaths each year. Stay mindful of the importance of safety and driving distraction-free to keep everyone safe on the road, including yourself.
- Teen Citizen Police Academy recently finished. We appreciate all those who participated and those who ensured teens had transportation and other means to participate.

Fire
- This Week
- Community Development taught a class with all Fire Inspectors with the new Brightly software.
- Had a high school student do some job shadowing on Monday.
- Met with the safety committee to go over our upcoming budget.
- Helped with an extrication class with Motlow EMT class.
- Firefighter Scotty Mize and Fire Fighter / EMT Ber Bess attended their Instructor 1 class at TFACA.
- Completed firefighter interviews for upcoming new hires on Thursday and Friday.
- Signed off on two certificates of use and occupancy.

- Deputy Chief Marty White is attending class at TFACA for the Fire Officer 4 class.
- Fire Fighter Joel McGlothen will be attending a Hazardous Materials operations class.

Community Development

- Training provided to the Fire Department for permitting software.
- Changes and testing of permitting software for new permit fees.
- Department budget meeting.
- Pre-development meeting for property off Faulkner Springs.

- Meeting the State Fire Marshal to discuss Commercial exemption (allow for us to review and inspect more commercial projects).

Water & Wastewater
- This Week
- Several service orders and locates.
- Checked for leak on Westwood 5th.
- Contractors repaired manholes on Lagoon Dr. for inflow to Sewer System.
- Replaced a ¾ galvanized service on West Main.
- Replaced a 6-inch meter that the register had gone bad.
- Installed check valve on a meter at Red Rd.
- Checked drive control on the sludge auger at the Wastewater Plant.
- Read meters on 4/17.
- Worked on drainage ditch that was eroding at the Water Plant.
- Changed out 2 more 6-inch meters in the system.
- The roof replacement at 202 Bell Street is complete. The manufacturer will complete their final inspection soon.
- Wascon Inc. installed and calibrated the drive control at Wastewater.
- Finished the semi-annual report for the Pretreatment program.
- Repaired the raw sampler pump at the headworks at Wastewater Plant.
- Performed regular maintenance at the Wastewater Plant.
- Repaired SCADA at Water and Wastewater Plants.
- Mowed at water tanks, pump stations, plants, and maintenance shop areas.
- Checked all pump stations.
- Sent certification forms to TDEC for Consumer Confidence Reports.
- Next Week
- Start updating the inventory list.
- Set samplers for pretreatment testing.
- Continue service line inventory in the system.
Public Works
- This Week
- Cleaned off storm drains around town.
- Put forms up for a sidewalk on College St.
- Started the sidewalk on Garfield St.
- Mowed some of the right of way around town.
- Worked on the landfill.
- We have been putting down some stop bars at intersections.
- Next Week
- We'd like to continue to remind everyone about our brush routes and some recent changes. They can be found HERE or by calling 473-1219.
